Shot From the Teeth 2000, Volume V
Hello one and hello
all to another installment of Shot from the Teeth. In this article, I
will take a deep look at the playoffs and what came of them. Who really
won? Who was the big loser? Don't worry folks, Cliff is on the job and
I'll make sure by the time you're finished with this article, you'll have
a deep understanding of the game and playoffs.
First off, let's
take a look at the winning team. Mike Walsh claimed to have found a new
stance that helped him in the playoffs. Well isn't this conveniant, eh!
You want to know what I think? I think that Mike shows a lot of what this
league is about. Guys who come early to gamedays and do a jog, guys who
work on their flaws to improve and guys who don't wear shirts when they
play! Yeah!
What about the old
man, Greg Creighton. He is always one step away from the title. Will the
failure of this year's playoffs convince him to play another year? Does
he want to show that he can still hang with the young ones? What about
a managers role? Or will he walk off in the sunset keeping the respect
he has earned in the last two years and cherish that? In my opinion, somebody
better break out "Desperado".
One question that
comes to my mind is this. Next year, do you want to be on the opposing
team of Joey Creighton and try to de-throne the 2-time, 2-time, 2-time,
WB champion, or just ride the wave he's on and claim a title for yourself
during this era? I would go with the second option. Just look at history.
Who the hell is Dan Marino? A bad actor without a championship ring. I
would probably respect Patrick Ewing just a little bit if he actually
beat MJ in a game 7. Desmond Howard got a ring and now look at the amount
of money he makes for...returning punts. Yep, so if you just do what I
say, you'll be following the crowd...with your head held highly!
Just a quick note
for all you WB Champion hopefuls, the after game party is absolutely incredible.
Not only was there a 5:1 ratio of women to men, but I'm sure I'll be getting
a couple calls in the next few days by women telling me that I'm a father,
if you catch my drift (wink wink).
[Special note for
the commish] I know off-season updates are hard to come by, but I'm always
available to help out. So if you ever need a quick update, I'll be more
than happy to sit down with you and let you interview me. I know you have
been saving that for when you guys redesign the site, but sometimes you
got to bend the rules.
A few readers sent
this question in to me, which made me wonder for a bit: Which trophy is
more important? Is it the one with the WB Champions on it, or the one
with the MVP and Cy Young award on it? Well, after some deep thought,
I have come to the conclusion that it is the one with the triple record
on it! I believe it is...hmmm...Terry Creighton...still after another
year. He still holds that crown. Way to go!!!
So now finally to
all the losers in the playoffs, let me give you one last piece of advice.
Don't worry! Next year, people will leave, quit, forget, or purposely
ignore the whole playoffs and I'm sure your 8-11 record will grant you
a top spot. So during the off season, make sure your not going to leave
Chico next year, check the site 3 times daily and pray that Joey is on
your team next year.
Questions!
Q: When are you going to write another article?
A: Today...duh!!
Q: Do you think Joey
will continue to dominant in pitching for the rest of the season? I know
there are a lot more games to be played, but I don't see him slowing down
right now in July.
A: Has is it been that long since my last article? I think so...for both
questions
Q: What is the news
on trampoline wrestling?
A: Well, after talking to Mr. Bickley, he has said that they (TWA) are
desperate for a new trampoline and how everyone who has one to sell, has
been a flake. So if you have a trampoline and need money, contact me (cliffrancho@yahoo.com)
and I'll pass it along to Bic.
Q: Was that last
question a blatant plug?
A: Yes, and it was professionally done I might add.
Till next time,
this is,
Cliff
