| Cliff Rancho |
2000-2003 |
The self-proclaimed "Doctor of Love"
and public lover
of all things
James Vassar,
Cliff Rancho joined
our ranks in 2000
as a side comedy
act and then was
forced to increase
his productivity
in 2001 after
Donnie Jeffcoat
and Omar Gooding
departed. Initially
brought in to
provide "the lighter
side" of the league,
the front-office
soon realized
Rancho was actually
a terrible writer.
Nonetheless, Cliff
became one of
our more popular
columnists. The
league’s decision-makers
were forced to
let Cliff continue
penning horrible
columns though
they quickly decided
to no longer have
him write about
the league anymore.
Instead, Cliff
was to focus on
his laughably
bad movie reviews.
The league even
gave him some
prime-time space,
allowing his review
of "Willow" to
headline our week-long
celebration of
the movie in 2003.
Cliff was a very
poor writer, but
he put in his
time, so we salute
him.
