Donnie Jeffcoat 1999-2000
You wouldn't believe how many people really thought THEE Donnie Jeffcoat wrote for our site. Insane. Back in 1999, looking for a quick and easy gimmick, the front office of the league decided to spice up their sleep-inducing news articles by attaching the names of former Wild and Crazy Kids hosts Donnie Jeffcoat and hombre Omar Gooding. Purely done for a cheap laugh and nothing more, the league found themselves deluged with e-mails asking how we got Donnie Jeffcoat to write for our site (and to a lesser extent, Omar Gooding). The articles were still the exact same thing as before, only now they had a "name" to go with it as well as a snazzy thumbnail shot of Donnie from his unforgettable days overseeing kids throw pies at parents. People are stupid, ya know. Towards the end of the 2000 season (a year in which "Donnie" started great controversy by becoming a sexist bigot overnight and writing whole columns dedicating to nothing more than making fun of chicks), the real Donnie Jeffcoat wrote us and let us know that despite the fact he enjoyed our site immensely, he was going to have to ask us to remove his name from the site. To his credit, he was a sport about it all (even some of our more ridiculous thumbnails didn't faze him) and even said we could finish out the season with his likeness. What a trooper! And to top it off, he even contributed some ideas as to why "Donnie" would be leaving the league/site. Admittedly, his primary idea (he'd be moving to Australia to teach the aborigines about the sport) was a little lame and we didn't use it, but he's earned a lifetime pass in our book. We'll be the first in line when Wild and Crazy Kids comes out on DVD.

Unfortunately, the articles written by "Donnie" didn't survive our many computer transfers over the years. Well...except for one, his 2000 masterpiece mocking the women for blowing their chance to finally have a stake in our league. It's really bad, but it's written by a Hollywood celeb, so take what you can get.
