| Dr. Rapp |
2000-2003 |
The league desperately needed replacement writers for the departed Donnie Jeffcoat and Omar Gooding after
the 2000 season. After dealing with actors for two years, we decided to go with Doctors. We brought in
Dr. Rapp, a specialist in pyscho-analysis and Cliff Rancho, a "Doctor of Love." Dr. Rapp provided the
league with a great mind and would routinely write thought-provoking columns about the players in the
league while Cliff Rancho told fart jokes and dreampt about being James Vassar's boyfriend. Rapp gave
us awe-inspiring service from 2001-2003 despite a busy workload in the "real world." To this day though,
the highlight of Dr. Rapp's writing career with us was probably his debate with fellow rookie writer
Cliff Rancho in 2001, if only because Cliff was able to draw some real emotion out of the Doc. Rapp still
keeps in sporadic contact with the Commish via e-mail, and wants to let everyone know that he misses
watching Joey Creighton paint corners of the strike zone. He also misses watching Joey hit to all fields.
And he misses watching Joey run the bases.
