2000 |
All the drama during the 2000 season was annoying for those on the fringes, and many looked at
Scatch Maroo as doing nothing but throwing matches on the embers. Allegedly from Sacramento, Scatch
volunteered his services to write for the site early in the 2000 season after somehow stumbling upon
it. The premise of his articles? Make fun of everyone in the league and be as graphic as possible. Those
who reacted to the first article would then receive the majority of the attention in subsequent columns
until everyone was ignoring the man. Which would lead to his 4th and final column. People got the hint
fairly quick with Scatch; if you keep your mouth shut he'll leave you alone. Others didn't, and would
inevitably have hundreds of words directed towards them and oftentimes be given special personal nicknames,
like "Rat Man" or "The Pedophile." The 2000 season was forgettable for most, but probably not for the guy
who turned our 2000 message board into one big flame-war all by himself.
