Description
Judge TMC:
Fucking Christ, a 1MB background image going over the navigation area? Are you kidding me? And they have about 4 different backgrounds to load throughout the site. How do these people make websites when they obviously have no idea how an image program works? I mean, it's a decent little layout, they must know what they are doing when writing HTML or using a WYSISWYG editor. But they never took the time to actually use Photoshop for 10 minutes? It's simply ridiculous and makes it impossible for me to enjoy this page.

Since I'm forced to look around though, some other comments:

--Decent amount of content, and understandable league information (standings, stats, etc.), which is actually rare to most wiffleball league web sites.
--I didn't dare go into the pictures page because of fear that my computer will crash.

One quick argument about which wiffle ball to use points to this league, which has pitchers like Dave Wolf who have thrown 17 innings and walked 52 batters. Sound like fun? Yeah, about as fun as waiting for a 1MB background image.

Final Say: If they fix their bg problem, go have a look for a second, till then, save your time.

Judge JRC:
The Ashley Luongo Wiffle Ball League (this league doesn't seem to have a name, so I made one for it), has the always-promising potential, but usability problems plague the site.

Essentially, the league is a group of 18-20 or so year-olds (including girls!) who play for the expected reasons: it's more fun than not playing. The site has a fair amount of content (stats, player profiles, even a couple movie files that need to be properly compressed) and everything seems to work okay. I didn't see too many spelling errors, I didn't get any 404 errors, etc.

However, the usability problems make this site very annoying to slog through. The genius who made the site (I'm looking at YOU, Chris Hess), took an uncompressed digital image and made it the background for the navigation system. The image isn't cropped at all, so in order for you to see a 100 px wide background image (or thereabouts) you're computer actually has to download a 2160x1440 image that is over 1,000kb. Then on another page he does the exact same thing with a DIFFERENT image, so you have to download
another 1+meg file in order to see the navigation. Then he does it again on ANOTHER page! Chris...you're in college, so you can probably get a great deal on a copy of Adobe Photoshop. Please do so, and go watch Uncle Terry teach you how to save an image for the web in our Tutorials Page.

What else sucks? On my Mozilla browser, the "Back" button is useless. That's...not acceptable, especially when on some pages I'm waiting for a 1000kb file to download just so I can SEE where else I can go on the site.

Final Say: Photoshop is your friend.
