Believe
it or not, we're not the only game in town... |
| |
*Levittown
Wiffleball -- I got all excited by the "Pictures"
link, but then saw my dreams shattered with yet another "coming
soon!" line. Apparently, so are the articles. I wish people
wouldn't lie to me. (2)
*Nintzel
Wiffle 2003 -- There are like 23 Nintzel's in this
league, and Taylor looks like a miserable SOB. Bill looks very...large.
The site is not very good, as I'm sure you figured by now. (1)
*Kadrie
Wiffleball League -- I'm guessing on the league name...reading
the font was hard. Not coincidentally, so was navigating through
the site. (1)
*Lawrence
Wiffleball
-- So...many...boxscores! Seriously, the size of the boxscores
page is nearly a meg and a half. Lots of content, but they only
have one graphic on the entire site. Well, the entire site that
I managed to work through. (4)
*Texarcana
Tornadoes -- The league has seen 389 ABs and 150 hits,
yet only 2 homeruns! That's means 1.3% of their hits are homeruns!
Is that even fun?! Still, the league has hit 17 triples (11.3%),
so maybe it's actually more fun than our league. (1)
*MLWB
Wiffleball -- On a scale of 1-10, 10 being "the
greatest site ever created," he gives our little project
here a 9.7. For once in our life, we think someone gave us too
LARGE a rating. Thanks anyway! As for this site, it's dead and
has no content. (1)
*Wifferball
-- Looking for that hard-to-find review of the Matrix? Well
look no further! Eh, I'll ruin it for ya, they give it 4/10. You
now have no reason to go to this site. (2)
*Whifflebrawl
-- This is like our site back in 1998, minus the content. Dead
site really, with lots of links that lead you nowhere. In other
words, perfect for this list! Coulda been kinda cool if they didn't
puss out. (2)
*Arizona
Wiffleball League -- They're (relatively) okay on content,
but it's a basic how-to on building an ugly site. Lots of ill-advised
font color changes and the like. (2)
wiffleballleague.tk
-- Young, ugly kids who look like losers, but they've got more
content on their site than most on this list. Could be cool in
a couple years, if they keep with it...and become a little cooler
as well. That's always key. (5)
Towson
Wiffleball Association -- They probably spent 10 minutes
on this site, tops. (1)
Rose
City Wiffleball League
-- Ugly and all that...they got some stats though! (2)
Fellas
Field -- Wow, a whole lotta nothing going on here, and
it doesn't look good. Color us surprised! (1)
KGJWFBL
-- Don't have a damn clue what's going on over there...maybe
they'll get their act together soon and return to their usual
routine of kicking ass (8)
Major
League Wiffleball -- They don't really update much anymore,
but they have good stats and use the right ball. What more can
you ask for? Oh yeah...well, it's better than most other stuff
you'll find on this page. (7)
HRL
-- They have their own style, and they stay true to it. They aren't
afraid to change if things are getting a little stale, and they
have fun with their game. Pretty can't miss. Check it out if you've
been wasting time with the ones below it. (9)
Wifflehouse.com
-- These guys are on the more "cutting edge" spectrum
of wiffleball sites, as ridiculous as that sounds. They pump out
video with regularity, update, and look tight and fresh. Worth
a few moments of your life. (9)
Noank Fastpitch Association
-- They got sortable stats, which we wish we had, but other than
that, there isn't much to interest you. Maybe they'll pick up
a point or two when their videos finally show up. (6)
Backyard
Wiffleball Association -- Content-speaking, this
site could be a lot worse. Design-wise, they prove us right. I
do hope they keep putting in the effort...the base is there.
(3)
WBA
of San Diego -- They did a great job of holding onto old
relics like pictures and stuff, and put it all up for the interest
of...well, themselves probably. We don't find it too interesting,
but we hope we still have all our wiffleball shit in 20 years.
(4)
Windy City Wiffleball
-- These guys moved their site around, and for the better. They
still look incredibly out of place on a wiffleball site, but we'll
admit improvement when we see it. Kudos for the "Thunder
Times." (4)
AVS Wiffleball
-- Future Frat Guys of America showing their utter inability to
build a site (1)
Joe's Wiffleball
Page -- Uhh, I'd put it in the "dead" pile,
but I would rather you see this for humor's sake. (0)
The World Whiffleball Championship
-- According to their "World Rankings," 12 of the
top 20 teams on the planet reside in Indiana. They still have
the grammatical error on their banner, and it's still funny.
(3)
NSWCL --
These guys have potential...now it's time to step to the plate
and deliver something they are capable of. (5)
Windsor
International Wiffleball League -- They probably won't
hit 1000 hits after their first year, which is a rather blatant
hint to just get out of the game. (1)
Fat
Bastard Wiffleball Tournament -- They claim we repeat
"lame Jim Rome lines." We don't know where or when we
do that, but if we do/did, we're ashamed, cause Rome sucks. Lots
(and lots) of text, and very cluttered, but they're doing it for
the right reasons. (4)
Powerhouse Wiffleball
-- It says "All site design by Miles Vidreiro" when
he really didn't do any of it. That's not nice. (0)
OABBIG -- I
don't know why they bother updating. (1)
United Backyard
Baseball League -- Devin S. looks like Randy Johnson.
Too bad...Randy's not very handsome (2)
Bad Ass National
Wiffleball League -- Good color scheme going on here.
Love the large content (0)
Wiffle Ball
at McVey Park -- So...many...frames...(4)
Three Village
League -- They're making strides. Let's hope they
keep it up (5)
The original Major League Yardball -- What I said last
year still applies..."Blah design, but they update"
(5)
Pepsi Wiffleball 2001 League
-- Cluttered as all hell, and it's not flashy when none of it's
yours (5)
HMWL.net -- They put
effort into their site, and it shows. (7)
First-ever
wiffleball video game -- The game's not good, but it's
a time-killer. (1 rating for game)
Sarasota Wiffleball League
-- Their last guestbook entry was back in July of 2001! Passable
content, ugly design. (5)
Northeast Ohio Wiffleball
League -- Is this site dead? It may as well be. (3)
Washington State Wiffleball Association
-- They refuse to link us. At least they don't play slow pitch.
(5)
Nettleton
Baptist Church Wiffleball -- If they updated more often
I'd tell you to go there. (3)
Fresno
Wiffleball League -- Will someone please buy these guys
a copy of Photoshop? Those pictures are WAY too big. They also
make some real questionable color scheme decisions, but nothing
else is too offensive...except for the fact they're using a template.
(4)
New England Wiffle Association
-- The only entertaining thing about this site (poking fun at
the awfully bad flash intro) is no longer possible, since they
took it off(!) So...don't even bother...they take their game too
seriously. (3)
London Wiffleball
-- They have 31 broken links on their front page, as of 2/27/03.
You know where I'm going with this. (4)
Wifflepalooza
-- How hard do you think this
guy's throwing? I'd like to see Cain or Carmichael
play at one of these. They don't seem to be playing "fastpitch,"
if you get my drift. Nevertheless, not a bad site. Kinda boring,
since they only play once a year. (4)
Wheeling
Wiffleball Association -- They don't load stuff in new
browser windows anymore, but let's face reality. These guys have
been around for a few years, and they just aren't improving at
all. (4)
Ace Bros
Wiffleball Page -- Aww, c'mon
Chad...we're fellow Chico State Wildcats, at least LINK to my
site!! (2)
Rottina.com -- Guys typing in their pitches. Whooooo!!
(1)
Wiffle Up -- We're not
sure what those animated "players" are supposed to be,
aside from horrifically ugly. Flash is cool in some circumstances.
This is not one of those circumstances. (3)
New Jersey Wiffleball Association
-- Something about their "Wiffleball Is Life" shirt
doesn't strike me as tongue in cheek. (5)
Texas Wiffleball Federation
-- Oh hell yeah! You don't mess with Texas! We also advise
you don't go to their site. Or, if you must, turn off your speakers
beforehand. (2)
Turner's Wiffleball
League -- They've reduced their "front page font
color" total to five, down from last year's seven. Somebody's
been reading our links page!! A lot more links than we got (4)
Dead
Sites (for all we know and suspect, these pages will never be
updated again. Most are bad.):
Bedford Tournament
-- Turn on your pop-up stopper before heading here (2)
Strawberry
Field -- The field most of you have already seen, with
not much else of note. At least they don't take themselves seriously.
(2)
Ace
Bros Wiffleball Page -- Some
pretty awesome *cough* graphics. Wiffleball is life, bra. (1)
BSS
Wiffleball -- Being their idols, it's confusing why they
still have us listed as Wiffleball2k1. (3)
Franklin
Wiffleball -- I wouldn't be surprised to hear we gave
them over half their hits (1)
Three
Village League -- Those strides they were making sure
did end abruptly. (4)
Bad Ass National
Wiffleball League -- Good color scheme going on here.
Love the large content (0)
United Backyard
Baseball League -- They love us, but there's not much
to see on their page. (1)
Stickball
Masters -- This site is the epitome of dead. But they
still got Yoder around! (0)
Griffle
Ball -- Last time we were here we wondered how long before
they would quit. Apparently, we only had to wait about two months.
