Brought
in for the Playerz as a replacement for the embarrassingly flakey
Matt Holmberg, Bill Rozak allows the Playerz to field teams during
gamedays rather than forfeit the rest of the season. A natural lefty,
he joins Curtis Henning and Joey Creighton as the only southpaws
in the league.
He has lefty
pop, and can turn on the ball rather well. He can also go opposite
way if need be, but will learn the hard way the size of the strike
zone. He could top 10 homeruns by the end of the year, which would
be impressive given the relatively small amount of time he'll be
allowed to play. His footspeed is suspect, and he's one of the larger
players in the league, but one must remember that there is no spped
needed when rounding the bases after a bomb.
His arm seems
competent enough. He doesn't have overpowering speed, or a real
knock-your-socks-off-curveball, but he'll throw strikes. And it
may take some time for hitters to get used to another lefty, so
until then, he may flourish. Still, at the core he's very hittable,
and it shouldn't surprise anyone if he starts giving up runs.
