Dave
entered the league in 2002 towards the end of the season and woke
it up, hitting 15 homeruns in only 50 ABs. Before him, the league
was limping through a rough season, with many just waiting for the
season to end. Now, thanks to Dave, many are waiting for the 2003
season to start with eager anticipation.
He's simply
a lethal hitter who possesses frightening bat speed. His amazingly
quick bat can hit any ball hard, and usually does. His weaknesses
are hard to find. He does swing and miss relatively often, but this
is due to his aggressive nature, which is also what allows him the
ability to hit the house at any given time. Possibly more powerful
than Carmichael, Dave hits the ball further than anyone we've ever
seen. He can also hit to any part of the field, and could easily
hit .400 if he chose to sacrifice some power.
He was roughed
up from the mound for the same reason Mike Walsh has been in his
career. Basically, he has decent accuracy, but his speed was nothing
of note and many pitches were left up. He still isn't overpowering,
but he's becoming very good at keeping the ball down, notably during
Winterball. He's a smart pitcher who is still learning how to pitch
certain hitters.
Dave can cover
possibly more ground than anyone in the league while in the field,
but thanks to usually fielding for Darnell, has not really had many
chances to do anything special. If he's in the field for one of
his struggling rookie teammates, you may seem some nice plays. He
has exceptional hand-eye coordination, and can get the ball out
of his hands with lightning speed. He has the ability to take the
Defensive POTY award away from Joey Creighton. |
