Playoff start date announced; no 9/11 rememberance planned
WB2K3 News Special

It was announced earlier today that the first round games for the 2003 Playoffs pitting the Holy Whites and Wiffolution will occur Saturday, September 13th.

And as an added wrinkle, it's most likely the series will also END on Saturday, September 13th as well.

"We need to get this thing rolling," stated Commish Creighton, after announcing the plans. "If the series had started earlier, we could afford to go one game at a time, but that didn't happen, so 'one game at a time' ain't gonna happen either."

The Commish did state that teams will have the opportunity to play Game 3 (if necessary) on Sunday, so long as two games were played Saturday. He didn't however think that would happen.

"I'm assuming--perhaps wrongfully so--that these guys wanna watch football on Sunday, so I'm guessing the series will conclude itself Saturday afternoon."

The best-of-3 series pits the second place Holy Whites (16-17) against the third place Wiffolution (17-19). The winner moves on to the Series at the Sac, where they'll face the first place Road Warriors (23-12) for thechampionship in a best-of-5 series.

The Commish fielded questions for a few minutes before retiring to the bathroom, an apparent diversion that saw him never return. One of the questions asked what the league had planned in rememberance of the September 11th attacks back in 2001.

The Commish stated that he had no such "festivities" planned.
