Wiffleball2k.com Returns To Field For Swingin' For Santa III

J. Creighton and Wattenberg provide power, seems no one can pitch anymore

Chico, CA.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 24, 2005-- During what was essentally one long batting practice session, former Horsemen Joey Creighton and Clint Wattenberg provided the offense at Swingin For Santa III, December 23rd in Chico, CA.

Both Joey (right) and Clint went 5-10 over the two-game event where only a couple former players showed a remote ability to pitch. Casey Sylvester and Dave Cain were the two main culprits, ruining everyone's fun with regular season-speed fastballs and accuracy while everyone else whined about arm fatigue and the seemingly larger home-to-pitcher's-mound distance.

In Game 1, Joey, Clint, Curtis Henning, Mark Montgomery and Casey handily beat Darnell Uhland, Jeff Morrison, Terry Creighton, Dean Evans, and Nate Stuempfig by the score of 6-1, with Wattenberg picking up 2 HRs, one of which was a grand slam. Dave Cain and Eric Christensen showed up in time for Game 2, and teamed up with Terry, Mark, Darnell, and Nate, they edged out Joey, Clint, Casey, Dean, and Jeff 7-6 in extra innings thanks to a Dave Cain solo shot off Casey.

Offensively, the league went 20-87 (.230) with 5 2B, 8 HRs, and 20 RBIs. After Joey and Clint's combined 10-21 performance, there wasn't much to write home about. Casey Sylvester went 2-7 with a 2B and HR, and all other batters were below .250.
