Doubleheader Game
1 After allowing a solo shot to John Robins with one out in the top of the first, the Horsemen retired the next 11 hitters, the last 9 by strikeout and beat the Playerz 5-1. They held Rozak to an 0-4, 3K game and Smith to an 0-5, 4K game. Seth Yoder hit a pair of two-run homeruns (#8 and 9) to lead the offense for the Horsemen, who were without Byrd and Christensen. Joey Creighton had a perfect game on the mound, tossing two no-hit innings with 6 strikeouts. He also picked up the win. Final Score: 5-1, Horsemen Game
2 Bill Rozak woke up from his one game slumber with a 4-8, 2 HR game as the Playerz picked up a 3-1 victory over the Horsemen in extra innings. With one out in the bottom of the sixth, Rozak hit a two-run, walk-off homerun off Joey Creighton to seal the victory. Once again, Yoder gave up a one-out solo homerun in the first inning, this time to Rozak. Joey Creighton tied it up at one apiece with a towering shot off Rozak in the second inning, and from then on, neither team could score. In the next four innings, the Horsemen picked up only two singles. The Playerz couldn't do much better, picking up only a few singles until the fatal blow in the 6th. Matt Smith stayed hitless on the day, going 0-8 in Game 2. Robins came up big, tossing two no-hit innings and looking much more focused on the mound. He tossed the 6th inning, held the Horsemen scoreless, and picked up the win after Rozak's blast.
