Opening Doubleheader
Horsemen versus Road Warriors

Game 1
All teams had problems fielding full teams Sunday with the weather the way it was, especially in the early morning. For the Horsemen, they had only one man ready to play at 11:00 am for the doubleheader with the Road Warriors.

Ian Byrd showed up at roughly 11:30 am, forcing the Horsemen to forfeit Game 1, but allowing them to play Game 2.

Final Score: Horsemen Forfeit

Game 2
The Road Warriors were only fielding Dave Cain and Curtis Henning, but those two had combined for 16 IP and zero earned runs. Joey Creighton and Ian Byrd would fix that.

Dave Cain would single and homer in the top of the first off struggling Joey Creighton while Curtis Henning would strike out all three times.

Joey and Ian would answer in the bottom of the inning, as they went back-to-back to tie the score. Ian would then throw a scoreless second inning before leading off the bottom of the inning with a single. After Joey struck out, Ian walked then scored on Joey's first double of the year. Ian then launched a 3-run homerun, putting the Horsemen up 6-2.

Dave would cut the lead to 6-3 with another homerun off Joey in the third, but that was the closest the Warriors would get as Ian put together a 1-2-3 fourth.

Final Score: 6-3, Horsemen

Nitecap
Wiffolution versus Road Warriors
It took Jeff Morrison 36 ABs before his bat started to heat up, but by his eighth inning of the day, his arm was ready to call it a year.

Jeff went 6-11, including 4 for his first 5, with his first two homeruns of the year, but gave up six runs in the bottom of the fourth to give the Road Warriors the 7-5 victory.

Jeff entered the game 4-36 on the year after a rough opening day on March 30th and a rough day at the Byrd House earlier Sunday. However, he had also thrown 7 shutout innings entering the final frame against the powerful Road Warriors.

Wiffolution had held them in check through 3 innings and sported a 5-1 lead. Dean and Jeff went back-to-back off rookie Curtis Henning in the first inning, and Jeff added a two-runner later in the inning. Dean would then hit his second homerun of the game off Cain in the second.

Jeff gave up an RBI single to Curtis in the bottom of the second, but after Dean picked up 3 Ks in the bottom of the third, Wiffolution looked poised for the upset.

Then it was the Warriors turn to get hot.

Jeff walked Curtis to lead off the inning, but then got Dave to hit into a groundout. Curtis then hit his first homerun of the day, cutting the lead to 5-3. Dave then struck out, but Curtis kept it going with a 2-out single under Dean's legs. Dave made them pay, going deep to left-center to tie the game at five. After Curtis doubled, Dave did it again, hitting an opposite-way, walk-off homerun to end the game.

Final Score: 7-5, Road Warriors
