Summaries Opening
Doubleheader Holy Whites can't field a team, so the Road Warriors get a forfeit win. Nitecap The Playerz made the Road Warriors look like the team from 2001, and they made it look easy. Playing without Dave Cain and apparently without much energy either, the Road Warriors gave up eight homeruns Saturday and lost horribly, 16-4. Every player in the game hit at least one homerun. After two full innings, the score was only 2-0 in favor of the Playerz, thanks to solo shots from Matt Smith and John Robins. But against Darnell in the top of the third, they erupted for nine runs thanks to a pair of bombs from Smith and Bill Rozak. The Warriors were able to break up the no-no and put some runs on the board off John Robins as Darnell and Henning both went deep, but the Playerz got all those runs back and more in the top of the fourth. Against Curtis, they picked up another five runs. Darnell dropped two-out line drive by Rozak that landed past the sidewalk for a two-run shot. Two singles later, Rozak hit a three-runner before Henning finally got Robins to line out and end the inning. Henning picked up a solo shot in the bottom of the inning, but at that point, it didn't really matter. Final Score: 16-4, Playerz Boxscores
