Notes: He may have only stood 5'6, but Dave Cain was a giant for the Road Warriors. After 2/3rds of what one might call a horrible season,
Darnell Uhland was facing his team's elimination from the league after all three teammates either quit or had to leave. Dave Cain arrived at that moment, was granted permission to
help keep the Warriors intact, and promptly blew the league away with his talent. Very quiet, very unassuming, Dave was a terror with a bat in his hand, running
neck and neck with Carmichael in most offensive categories until he had to miss most of the end of the 2003 season. He drank Diet Dr. Peppers like a junkie
shoots heroin and drove a mini-monster truck to games. He and Darnell bonded instantly and were seemingly joined at the hip throughout Dave's 2-season career. A
middle-infielder on the local hardball circuit, Dave amazed many with his fielding and, like teammate Darnell, was seemingly never in a bad mood. He played
the game the way we wish everyone played it, and he played it damn well.
