Notes: Easily the most dedicated rookie we ever saw. Matt shattered the rookie records for nearly all non-percentage stat categories. His 243 ABs is #2
all-time overall, 2nd only to Carmichael's 262 in 2001, and his 56 IP is more than what many other players logged in multiple seasons. This all coming despite playing on a team
where he knew nobody for half the season (halfway through the season, his friend Bill Rozak was granted permission to take the spot of two teammates who quit). Streaky
batter, he went through power stretches and subsequent power slumps. However he was also a very consistent pitcher, sporting a sub-3.00 ERA for most of the season. Matt was
not a big fan of fellow rookie Matt Plummer. In fact, he didn't seem to get along too well with any members of Wiffolution, now that I think of it.
