Mike Walsh: 2000 - 2003

"After a subpar rookie campaign in 2000 (.216 BA, 4.15 ERA), Mike Walsh inexplicably found himself in the 2000 playoffs as the #8 seed, teamed up with Joey Creighton. After bending over for Nate Stuempfig and Seth Yoder during a 15-0 Game 1 drubbing in the first round, Mike's career careened onto a new path. He put a struggling Joey on his back for four consecutive victories and the Series at the Sac title. He was then taken in the first round of the 2001 draft by an impressed Scott Carmichael (Holy Whites), and proceeded to dominate the league to the tune of a .355, 33 HR season that helped the Holy Whites win the 2001 title. He became only the 2nd multiple-time champ in the league, and remains just that today.

Sadly, Mike's 2002 and 2003 seasons did not reflect the talent he possessed, and his career never materialized to what it could have been. Due to often-times being injured and as a result very infrequent play, his combined numbers over that span aren't pretty (.220 BA, only 2 HRs in 82 ABs). To this day though, most remember Mike's sophomore season with nothing but reveration. Teamed with Caramichael, the Holy Whites had a 1-2 punch from the plate that was never matched, prior or since. Because of that, whenever we come together to play again, Mike could be playing in a sling and pitchers will still proceed with extreme caution."
